AFFA Competition

Back when I first started posting my TMNT fan fiction, there was a yearly competition site for the fandom that was not only fun to participate in, it was also very helpful. That site gave me some fantastic reading recommendations and really opened my eyes to the incredible amount of wonderful stories and talented writers this fandom has to offer.

Unfortunately, the fandom cooled off for a while and the competition went by the wayside. I was sad to see it go, but the number of participants that final year didn't really warrant the effort the site founders put into it. Trust me, these people work hard.

Now I am delighted to announce that the TMNT Adult Fan Fiction Competition is back in full swing!

The AFFA brings together all of the sites where people post their fan fiction by letting readers nominate their favorite stories. They provide links to the stories that are nominated so that you, the fan fiction reader, can peruse what other people have chosen as top of the line TMNT fan fiction.

At the end of the nomination period, the stories in each category are available to be voted upon by all readers. You don't have to nominate anything in order to vote, nor do you have to nominate something in every category, but if you don't nominate your favorites, they might not show up on the ballot!

The top vote getters are announced at the end of the competition. It is a terrific showcase for authors as well as a nice pat on the back for all of their hard work. And please don't forget that we readers benefit as well!

I want to encourage everyone to participate this year and help to bring the AFFA back up to its full glory. Filling out the voting ballot is easy and you can nominate more than one story per category! Can't think of a story to nominate? Check your favorites here on dA, that's always a good starting reference point!

The nomination window opens on March 3rd, so you have plenty of time to start thinking about the stories you would choose to recommend to your fellow fans.
